Martin Cicognani – Managing Director
Originally trained as a rubber technologist within a London based cable manufacturer, I joined Hubron in 1979. Eager to gain a wider polymer industry perspective, I worked for Akzo and DSM in engineering plastic sales from 1986 to 1993. After rejoining Hubron in the same year, my aim has been to expand the markets we serve and the services we offer to both principals and customers. By offering a professional and flexible business model, driven by continuous improvements in customer service, we shall continue to serve the polymer compounding market sectors
Martin Wilkinson – UK Sales Manager
Although I didn’t join the Hubron commercial team until June 2015, I have been working in the polymer industry for over 20 years. I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Polymer Science & Technology in 1992 and immediately joined a French company in their product development laboratory in Stalybridge. Over the subsequent years I have held a number of Technical, Market Development, Product Management and Sales Management roles providing sales and technical support to a wide spectrum of businesses and industries. I am focused on using all the skills that I have gained within the industry to understand our customer’s needs and requirements enabling me to build lasting customer relationships and deliver sustainable growth.
Nick Shilton – Regional Manager
I joined Hubron in December 2016 to take over the Southern territory. I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a BSc (Hons) in chemistry in 2014 and decided that a commercial role would suit me best. From University, I worked in chemical sales for a distribution company near Manchester. During my time there I focused on the Thermoplastics and Coatings sector, an area that I would like to expand within Hubron Speciality. I’m very much looking forward to working with Hubron customers, its team, and growing my knowledge of all areas of the industry. I aim to continue being a friendly and approachable contact for our principals and clients.
Claire Smith – Business Administration Manager
I have worked at Hubron since 2005, initially in an administration position; my role now encompasses more compliance matters which keep me very busy. I have 2 daughters and a slightly bonkers Labradoodle to keep me busy at home, and I enjoy walking with them – in 2007 I completed the Coast to Coast walk. I recently treated myself to a Kawasaki motorbike having achieved one of my personal ambitions of obtaining a motorcycle driving licence.
Carol Hill – Customer Service
I joined Hubron in 2002 as a Customer Service Coordinator, after relocating from the Midlands. One of the best aspects of my role is the daily contact and rapport I have built with our customers. I have 2 teenage daughters and live with my partner, 3 Rottweiler’s and 2 parrots which keep me very active but lets me enjoy the countryside and fresh air. As I enjoy holidaying in Spain one of my goals is to become fluent in Spanish, and I have undertaken classes to help me achieve this.
Denise Scott – Customer Service
I joined Hubron in July 2010 after leaving the aerospace business, so I am the newest member of the sales team. I look forward to facing the challenges of what my new role offers and I already feel accepted as part of Hubron’s happy team. After years spent working for a large company it is refreshing to experience ‘being a name instead of a number’ which a smaller business offers.
