New Product Introduction Hypro® 1200X90 HTB

CVC Thermoset Specialties introduces Hypro® 1200X90 Hydroxyl-Terminated Polybutadiene (HTB).  It’s the second HTB developed for the established markets of electrical insulation, potting, water resistant membranes, asphalt coatings and adhesives and speciality polyurethane systems.  Hypro® 2800X95 HTB and Hypro® 1200X90 are homopolymers of butadiene.  CVC is also offering samples of Hypro® HTE-4001, a hydroxyl-terminated copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile, to strategic customers willing to evaluate it  and to provide feedback on it.

Hypro 1200X90 and Hypro 2800X95 are well suited for the production of elastomeric polyurethanes that exhibit excellent hydrolytic stability and outstanding low temperature flexibility due to its low Tg. These properties, along with excellent electrical insulation, are desirable features in applications such as potting and encapsulation, adhesives and sealants, waterproof coatings and membranes.

Hypro 1200X90 HTB is lower in molecular weight and viscosity and higher in hydroxyl value than 2800X95.

Hypro HTE-4001 HTBN is a developmental product.  It is a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile at the same ratio as our standard products Hypro 1300X8 CTBN and Hypro 1300X16 ATBN.  It is designed to provide enhanced compatibility with polar additives and to provide all the benefits of hydroxyl-functional polybutadiene.
