GenCeal® 8100 sulfonated Styrene Butadiene Latex Emulsion from Omnova Solutions Inc.

GenCeal® 8100 is a sulfonate styrene butadiene latex emulsion and forms a stiff, high gloss and tough film at temperatures above 35º C.  The main attributes are excellent stability in the presence of multivalent ions and excellent high temperature stability.  Applications include wallboard, external sheathing, cement additive, HTHP water based drilling muds, down well oilfield cementing and adhesive compounding.  Features include:

  • Excellent electrolyte stability when exposed to solutions containing high levels of mono (e.g. Na+ and K+) or multivalent ions (e.g. Ca+2  and Ba+2 )
  • Excellent stability above 300ºF (149ºC)
